(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) – Wiley Learning Institute™(http://www.WileyLearningInstitute.com), in collaboration with Jossey-Bass™, provides essential knowledge, ideas, and best practices to promote professional learning in higher education. This fall, Wiley Learning Institute is offering faculty and campus leaders the opportunity to learn from and directly interact with internationally recognized speakers, Jossey-Bass™ authors, and thought leaders in teaching, learning and leadership development.
This season of professional development workshops will run Thursday, October 11, through Friday, November 16, and will include both 90-minute and half-day sessions, all delivered through a convenient online format.
Presenters such as Stephen Brookfield, L. Dee Fink and Mary Deane Sorcinelli, as well as other authors and thought leaders will host the 22 separate workshops, which will focus on five key learning areas:
- Designing Courses
- Engaging Students
- Assessing Learning
- Teaching Online
- Department Chair and Leadership Development topics
All offerings are guaranteed to be instructionally sound, highly interactive, and immediately applicable—giving faculty, department chairs, and campus leaders the knowledge, tools, and resources to take what they have learned and apply it to their courses the next day.

For the first time this fall, faculty developers and other campus leaders can purchase combinations of Flex Passes, which are prepaid registrations that faculty and department chairs can redeem for relevant workshops that fit into their schedules. Faculty developers can also purchase Site Licenses to support facilitated group participation in specific workshops. Wiley Learning Institute offers two types of Flex Passes and Site Licenses:
- Silver – good for any 90-minute workshop
- Gold – good for any half-day or intensive workshop–and bulk discounts for departments, colleges, institutions, and consortia.
“Wiley Learning Institute provides institutions with opportunities to facilitate high-quality professional development that supplements what they do on campus. Now faculty developers can have the best of both worlds. With Flex Passes they can give new or adjunct faculty a chance to deepen their practice in areas they identify themselves. With Site Licenses they can facilitate structured activities for a faculty learning community or cohort of new department chairs to participate together around specific topics,” said Kevin Kelly, Ed.D., Director of WILEY LEARNING INSTITUTE.
